• Do not leave your laptop and/modem or other valuables in your car where they can be visible. This will attract thieves who may break your car window.
• Keep your laptop and/modem within your sight and reach when you are out and about
• 23% of victims were using their laptop or had them on display when they were targeted.
• Laptop crime is higher in city centers. Please be aware of your surroundings.
• If you need to use your laptop, go to a secure area.
• Avoid using your laptop in the vehicle.
• If you leave your laptop in your vehicle, it should be concealed and stored safely in a locked trunk/compartment.
• Ensure you register your laptop/data card with the network operator, so that if it is stolen they can Barr the laptop and data card.
• Buy a carry case for your laptop ,so if it does fall it won't get damaged
• If you need your laptop and/modem repaired make sure it is a designated repair centre as CYBERSURED will not accept repairs done by any other repair centre.
• Avoid cosmetic changes/personalising your laptop and/modem as you could lose your cover.
• Keep your laptop and/modem away from children.
• Avoid downloading from unsecured sources as your laptop and/modem could end up with a virus.
• Ensure your laptop and/modem's PIN control is activated.
• Record the laptop’s unique serial number and the modem’s IMEI number.
